Outreach

Outreach.

Expanding the Kingdom beyond our walls.

From West Hempstead into communities across Long Island, LFT extends its ministry through direct service, family support, community awareness, and practical care.

Our outreach reflects a simple conviction: the love of Christ should be visible in how we respond to real people, real needs, and the communities around us.

Community care & direct service
LFT has a history of meeting practical needs in the communities around us. Our outreach has included feeding people at the Hempstead and Freeport train stations, preparing blankets and care packages for families in a local children’s hospital burn unit, supporting domestic violence shelters, providing back-to-school supplies for families, and serving meals to people experiencing homelessness.
Health & awareness
LFT members participate in community-based awareness efforts that affect the lives of local families, including breast cancer awareness walks, the Autism Speaks Walk, and the Buddy Walk for Down syndrome. These moments reflect our commitment to showing up with compassion, visibility, and support beyond the walls of the church.
Families & neurodiversity
Families raising neurodivergent children, including children with autism, are already part of the life of LFT. Their presence is not separate from the church community. It is part of who we are, how we worship, and how we understand belonging.
Men’s health & wellness
Through Brotherhood, LFT is preparing a prostate cancer awareness cohort focused on increasing awareness among men and creating space for informed conversations around men’s health.
